Under the project "Academia-Industry Experience in the European Union - AIEEU" a group of 6 students and 2 professors, from MARATHWADA MITRA MANDAL's Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune visited the International Criminal Court (ICC), Hague, Netherlands.
It was a learning experience for all the participants visiting the ICC Hague, Netherlands. It was a well-organized visit for the live hearings at the International Criminal Court (ICC) on 08/04/2024 from 1:30 to 2:45 pm with a confirmed code: VisitToICC20240408PM07.
Each participant was required to present valid proof of identification (passport or identity card) to enter the ICC Premises. All participants in the group maintained the Rules of Decorum to comply with when visiting the ICC. Filming or taking photographs was strictly prohibited inside the premises of the International Criminal Court.
Unfortunately, the live hearing was canceled due to the competition of the cross-examination and recorded witness statements in the morning session. The courtroom was allowed to be visited and well explained by the guide about the process and jurisdiction of the ICC over any matters. The International Criminal Court (ICC) investigates and, where warranted, tries individuals charged with the gravest crimes of concern to the international community: genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and crimes of aggression.
It was a dream come true for all the participants to explore the ICC, Hague, Netherlands as it is a dream of all the law students, lawyers, and law experts to work for peace and humanity by providing justice to society!
