Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF), Poland Expands Strategic Academic Cooperation with Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (HSMW), Germany
Mittweida, Germany – March 3, 2025 – The Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF), the only dedicated Polish research centre focusing on Indo-European academic and strategic cooperation, proudly announces the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (HSMW) in Germany. This collaboration marks a pivotal step in strengthening international academic networks and enhancing Poland’s and India’s strategic engagement with global partners, especially across Poland, India, and Germany.
This milestone also represents a further step toward the establishment of the Indo-European Education Foundation’s branch at Hochschule Mittweida as the “Contemporary Centre for Indo-German Business & Academic Collaboration (CCIGBAC)”—a platform designed to deepen bilateral cooperation in education, research, innovation, and industry engagement between the two nations under a shared European framework.
The MoU was formally signed on March 3, 2025, and represented by:
- Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, President, Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF)
- Prof. Dr. rer. oec. Volker Tolkmitt, Rector, Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences (HSMW)
This agreement is the outcome of an ongoing DAAD-supported project titled Economic Issues in the International Context (EIIC), launched under the internationalization of German universities. Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar currently serves as a Visiting Professor at HSMW, Faculty of Industrial Engineering for the academic year 2024–2025 within the scope of this initiative.
In recognition of his significant contributions, his professorship has been extended for 2025–2026, under a new DAAD-backed project titled:
“Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Educational Development: Catalyzing Social and Economic Growth in Germany and Beyond (STRATCOMM)”.
- Academic Cooperation: A Bridge Between Continents
The MoU establishes a robust framework for academic collaboration, including joint research projects, international conferences, peer-reviewed publications, student and faculty exchanges, seminars, and specialized training programs. These activities will be jointly pursued through IEEF’s Indo-European partner institutions, with a special focus on India and Germany.
This cooperation aims to create new avenues for interdisciplinary innovation, knowledge exchange, and capacity-building initiatives aligned with global socio-economic challenges.
- Non-Academic Engagement: Strategic Development and Outreach
IEEF will play a central role in supporting HSMW’s strategic expansion into the Indian academic ecosystem. Through initiatives like the CET-India exam, IEEF will ensure transparent, merit-based student recruitment for HSMW’s degree programs. In parallel, both institutions will collaborate on English-taught curricula, institutional partnerships with Indian universities, and high-level engagement with media and industry leaders across both nations.
Together, these efforts aim to solidify Indo-German ties in education, technology, and innovation.
- Corporate Collaboration: Bridging Academia and Industry
A structured internship and corporate engagement program will provide at least 15 students per year with direct experience in leading companies across India and Germany. This initiative is aligned with student disciplines and designed to enhance employability, promote cross-border professional exposure, and support industry-academia partnerships.
It also allows German and Indian companies to identify future talent and explore opportunities for market expansion and bilateral investments.
A Vision Forward: Global Academic Integration and Strategic Outreach
The signing of this MoU and the upcoming launch of the Contemporary Centre for Indo-German Business & Academic Collaboration (CCIGBAC) at Hochschule Mittweida represent a visionary step in institutional internationalization. This partnership not only underscores IEEF’s role as Poland’s foremost Indo-European research institution but also advances Germany's strategic ties with India through long-term academic, administrative, and corporate engagement.
Through initiatives like EIIC and STRATCOMM, IEEF and HSMW are setting a precedent for global academic diplomacy, sustainable development, and innovation-driven education policy across Europe and Asia.
