Transforming Intercultural Learning Through BIP-2025 at the University of Opole
Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Professor for International Entrepreneurship & Economics (Visiting Professor) at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, University of Applied Sciences Mittweida, Germany, Adjunct at the Faculty of Philology, University of Opole, Poland, and Founder President of the Indo-European Education Foundation, Poland, successfully initiated and coordinated the Blended Intensive Program (BIP) 2025: “Intercultural Competence and Communication in Global Markets: Managing Challenges for Sustainable Economic Growth”, held from December 1–5, 2025. Under his guidance, the program brought together over 60 students from Poland, Germany, and Romania for the largest in-person BIP event in the program’s history.
Dr. Kumar, who firmly believes in working with friends in a friendly environment rather than relying solely on “brand” organizations, demonstrated his vision by transforming a collaborative educational initiative into an international benchmark for intercultural learning and practical leadership development.
I don’t believe in working with “brand” organizations; I believe in working with friends in a friendly environment and transforming organizations into a brand.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar
As BIP-2025 Project Coordinator, Dr. Kumar oversaw all aspects of the program, from conceptualization to execution. Following an online preparatory phase in November, he designed an intensive, interdisciplinary curriculum merging theory with practical applications in international management. Through workshops, case studies, and collaborative projects, students developed leadership, communication, problem-solving, and intercultural skills essential for thriving in a globalized economy.
Key contributions of Dr. Kumar included:
-
Kickoff and Integration Activities: Dr. Kumar led the opening session alongside Prof. Dr. Hab. Joanna Ryszka, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and facilitated team-building through gamification exercises, fostering multicultural collaboration.
-
Academic Excellence: On Day 2, he delivered a remarkable case study on China and its regions (Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan). Students analyzed historical, cultural, political, and economic contexts, enhancing research, presentation, and teamwork skills.
-
Experiential Learning: On Day 3, participants explored Moszna Castle, combining history, heritage, and collaborative problem-solving.
-
Multicultural Teamwork: On Day 4, Dr. Kumar oversaw mixed-nationality student groups as they presented their case study outcomes, exemplifying practical intercultural cooperation.
-
Recognition and Awards: On the final day, he contributed to the successful culmination of the program, recognizing student achievements in case study and quiz competitions. Certificates were awarded by Prof. Dr. Hab. Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska alongside all BIP project leaders.
Broader Impact and International Collaboration
The Indo-European Education Foundation, under Dr. Kumar’s leadership, has initiated cooperation with the University of Opole, Poland, and the University of Applied Sciences Mittweida, Germany, fostering long-term international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Dr. Kumar is also actively engaged with the transformative initiative “Internationalization of German Universities: Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Educational Development (STRATCOMM)”, building on the success of the precursor project “Economic Issues in International Context (EIIC)”, funded by DAAD in 2024/25.
Under his leadership, BIP-2025 strengthened partnerships with Hochschule Mittweida, Germany, and “Dunărea de Jos” University of Gala?i, Romania, providing participants with invaluable experiences in networking, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving. His approach transformed a standard academic program into a living laboratory of intercultural collaboration, where students became confident global leaders.
BIP-2025 stands as a testament to Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar’s visionary leadership, his commitment to practical, hands-on learning, and his ability to inspire students across borders. By fostering a friendly, collaborative environment, he turned the program into an example of how international education can be both transformative and deeply human-centered.
Looking ahead, future editions of BIP will continue the rotational format, ensuring ongoing knowledge exchange and intercultural learning between partner universities, further cementing Dr. Kumar’s legacy in global education.
