Successful Conclusion of Two-Day International Conference on Human Rights in Armed Conflict At Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune, India
The Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF), Poland, in collaboration with Marathwada Mitra Mandal’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune, proudly announces the successful completion of the Two-Day International Conference on “Human Rights in Armed Conflict: Asian–European Perspectives”, held on 6th and 7th February 2026 in Pune, India. The conference concluded with an inspiring valedictory ceremony on 7th February, marking the culmination of a truly global academic and humanitarian dialogue.
The conference was jointly organised by MMM’s Shankarrao Chavan Law College and the Indo-European Education Foundation, Poland, with the support of esteemed international partner institutions — University of Opole, Poland, and Hochschule Mittweida (University of Applied Sciences), Germany — as institutional partners of IEEF. This collaborative initiative created a vibrant international platform for scholars, legal professionals, researchers, academicians, and students from Asia and Europe to engage in meaningful and solution-oriented discourse on contemporary human rights challenges in armed conflict situations.
Inaugural Session: A Global Call for Peace and Cooperation
The conference was formally inaugurated on Friday, 6th February 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Kale Hall, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune, India.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, as the Chief Guest, Col. Lalit Rai (Retd.), Senior Army Officer, Pune, as the Guest of Honour, and among the eminent guests- Prof. Dr. Vijay Khare, Director, International Centre, Savitribai Phule Pune University.
The programme was convened by Dr. Kranti Deshmukh, Principal, Shankarrao Chavan Law College, Pune, and Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar, President, Indo-European Education Foundation, Warsaw, Poland.
In his inaugural address, Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar highlighted the urgent global need for peace in a world increasingly affected by armed conflicts, geopolitical instability, and humanitarian crises. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation, strategic partnerships, and multilateral engagement between Asia and Europe. Referring to evolving global dynamics, he underscored the relevance of economic diplomacy, international trade frameworks such as the India–EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), and emerging global realignments. He stressed their impact on peace, stability, and global governance. His address strongly reaffirmed IEEF’s commitment to promoting dialogue, diplomacy, education, and peace through international academic collaboration.

A significant academic outcome of the conference was the selection of more than 60 high-quality research papers from among the presented papers for final publication as official Conference Proceedings. These proceedings will be published with a separate ISBN, ensuring formal academic recognition and global accessibility. In addition, selected outstanding research papers will be published in high-ranked international journals with separate ISSN numbers, further strengthening the global academic impact and scholarly value of the conference.
Valedictory Ceremony: Commitment to Peace, Justice, and Humanity
The valedictory session on 7th February 2026 reflected a shared global vision of peace, justice, human dignity, and international responsibility.
