International Engagement in Lithuania Strengthens STRATCOMM Project and Expands Academic Partnerships
As part of the DAAD-funded project “Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Educational Development: Catalyzing Social and Economic Growth in Germany and Beyond (STRATCOMM),” Prof. Dr. Pradeep Kumar actively contributed to international academic collaboration through participation in an International Teaching Week held from March 2–4, 2026, at Vilniaus Kolegija / Higher Education Institution, Faculty of Economics, in Vilnius, Lithuania. The initiative was supported by the Indo-European Education Foundation (IEEF), highlighting the foundation’s role as a key partner in advancing the project’s internationalization and academic collaboration objectives.
During the teaching week, Prof. Kumar conducted a workshop-cum-training program titled “The European Union's Economic Challenges and the Quest for Strategic Autonomy in 2026.” The session brought together students and academic staff to explore the evolving economic landscape of the European Union, focusing on resilience, policy responses, and strategic positioning in a rapidly changing global environment. The workshop encouraged critical discussion on economic governance, international trade dynamics, and the role of strategic communication in addressing complex economic challenges.
This visit was conducted under the STRATCOMM project, which supports the internationalization of German universities and promotes collaborative academic initiatives that advance sustainable educational development and international business communication. Through this engagement, Hochschule Mittweida – University of Applied Sciences, Germany, expanded its academic outreach in Lithuania. The participation at Vilniaus Kolegija is particularly significant, as there is currently no formal cooperation agreement between the two institutions. The visit thus provided a platform to explore potential avenues for future institutional collaboration and partnership development, with the IEEF facilitating connections and dialogue.
Within a short period, Prof. Kumar’s engagements with several Lithuanian institutions brought together existing and potential partners, facilitating discussions on collaborative academic initiatives focused on internationalization and sustainable educational development. These initiatives closely align with the objectives of the STRATCOMM project, which is supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and implemented at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering at Hochschule Mittweida – University of Applied Sciences. The active involvement of the IEEF further strengthens the project by fostering strategic partnerships, supporting mobility programs, and expanding international networks.
Through these efforts, the STRATCOMM project, in close partnership with the Indo-European Education Foundation, continues to strengthen international academic networks, foster knowledge exchange, and promote collaborative initiatives that contribute to social and economic growth in Germany, Lithuania, and beyond.
