Building New Academic Bridges with Vilnius University Business School

The Indo-European Education Foundation proudly highlights the growing importance of international academic collaboration through the recent participation of Dr. Pradeep Kumar, President of the Foundation, Professor of International Entrepreneurship & Economics (Visiting Professor) at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (Fakultät Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen) at Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and a the Faculty at the University of Opole, Poland, in the International Teaching Week hosted by Vilnius University Business School from May 4–8, 2025.

The event brought together distinguished academics, students, and institutional partners from across Europe and beyond, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange, intercultural dialogue, and the strengthening of international partnerships. Dr. Kumar’s participation not only contributed to the academic success of the programme but also opened new avenues for future cooperation in research, teaching, academic mobility, and joint scholarly publications.

Representing Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Dr. Kumar delivered a series of engaging lectures for both local and international students, focusing on intercultural communication and global business practices. His sessions attracted remarkable student interest, including one of the largest audiences of the entire Teaching Week, with 64 students attending a single lecture.

During the programme, Dr. Kumar presented two lectures:

• Beyond Borders: Understanding Intercultural Dynamics in Global Business
• From Local to Global: Communication Strategies for a Culturally Diverse Business World

The lectures explored the critical role of intercultural awareness in today’s interconnected world, emphasizing effective communication strategies and the challenges organizations face when operating across cultural boundaries. Through case studies, interactive discussions, and practical examples, students gained valuable insights into international cooperation, cross-cultural management, and global business communication.

The high level of student engagement throughout the sessions reflected the growing demand for international perspectives in higher education. The experience also underscored the significance of academic mobility and internationalization initiatives supported by the Erasmus+ programme, which continue to foster global competencies among students and academic staff.

Beyond classroom activities, the International Teaching Week provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen institutional relationships and explore future collaborative initiatives. Discussions with international partners focused on several promising areas of cooperation, including:

• Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
• Joint research projects and academic publications
• Visiting professorships
• Staff and student exchange opportunities
• Long-term strategic partnerships between institutions

These conversations laid the foundation for future projects that will further enhance academic excellence and international engagement among participating universities.

As a Professor of International Entrepreneurship & Economics (Visiting Professor) at the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (Fakultät Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen) at Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany, Dr. Kumar emphasized the importance of building sustainable educational networks that connect institutions, researchers, and students across borders. Such collaborations contribute not only to academic development but also to intercultural understanding, innovation, and socio-economic progress.

Dr. Kumar’s visit was organized in cooperation with Hochschule Mittweida University of Applied Sciences in Germany, where he serves as a visiting professor. He is currently involved in the internationalization project “The Strategic Communication for International Business and Sustainable Educational Development: Catalyzing Social and Economic Growth in Germany and Beyond (STRATCOMM)”, which promotes international academic cooperation, intercultural communication, and sustainable educational development.
